In Gen 3 LS engine applications it is used to convert the brake pedal signal of a normally open switch to mimic the signal of a normally closed switch for torque convertor lock up control. In Gen 4 LS engine applications it uses the Powertrain control signal from the ECM to keep the TCM powered up throughout the shutdown process.
