    Summary:
    SBC 355, mild cam, K5 Blazer. I had installed a FiTech unit and it lasted 5 weeks before dying. I decided to go with the Holley instead of risking that issue again. I can say that the Holley system starts better and has better idle characteristics than the FiTech. I had a much easier time setting the IAC/Throttle needs (where the FiTech struggled with this). I also had the built-in fuel regulator showing a proper PSI value, where the FiTech was set low (with no way to adjust this). System is recommended...with a few caveats: 1- The Holley system comes with pre-wired fuses and relays that you can mount to your firewall. Since I had spent time/money working to get my engine compartment setup to have a clean firewall w/ no exposed wires, I worked to integrate the Sniper into my Painless wiring harness. The documentation shows the small blue wire to activate the fuel pump relay as 12v positive. It is not. It is a ground-activated relay. I had no fuel pump until I realized this (by closely reviewing the included Holley wiring and talking with Holley tech). Once I swapped the wiring in my relay at the fuseblock to have the Holley feed the ground, system works well. I'll take this weekend to properly encase the currently exposed wiring during my initial test efforts. 2- The Sniper spaces out the throttle linkage further away from the unit than any Holley carb or other fuel management system I've worked with. Due to this, I was not able to bolt on my FAST throttle cable bracket system, as it was hitting the throttle linkage. I ended up going to my local hardware store to grab some aluminum angle to build 2 brackets that "extend" the mounting points out far enough to clear the Sniper throttle linkage. If you use the Holley kit, it will work...but I've never liked the single-bolt brackets. I prefer the more solid functionality of the brackets that mount to the front/rear carb mounting studs. Be prepared to do a little bit more work if you have a similar bracket.

    Summary:
    Installed the system on a '68 Camaro with probably a little too large of a cam in a 327. I have owned the car over 20 years and it has always had driveability issues such as dropping 300 rpm when put into gear, hesitation from idle, choke never worked right, fouling spark plugs when running the A/C, and the tune was constantly changing. As soon as I installed the system and answered a few questions it fired right up and ran better than it ever had when cold. As it warmed up and began to learn, it just kept running better and better! It is still learning, but I can tell you that the idle is always what its set at regardless if its in gear or not, and if the A/C is on or not. I did choose to go with the Sniper in-tank fuel pump module that is self regulating rather than the master kit with the external pump.
